Title: GREAT Crowd! Friendly (familiar) Faces

We went back to the VC on a Saturday for the first time in months. What a dramatic change. The owner appears to have cleaned house and the word must be getting out because we saw so many familiar faces from another club in town where everyone seemed to agree that the hostess there has become an insufferable bitch.

Back to the VC - The best description I can offer is LAID BACK. They have rules and a staff to ensure they are followed, but the atmosphere is so much more relaxed and we never felt like we were being scrutinized.

The club is also NO SMOKING! What a refreshing change!! It took some balls for the owner to make that call, but it appears to be paying off in larger (less smelly) crowds.

We will be back and we will take friends.

Title: Went last night (April 14, 2012)

We got to the Velvet Curtain around 10 pm and joined in to the mixer game. We matched seven times, so we had seven raffle tickets. We won a T-Shirt. Some won Tank Dresses which were awesome. Maybe next time for us.

The club had over 140 people but did not feel crowded. The outdoor deck had a canopy in case it rained. The Velvet Curtain had seating for 140, so no one had to stand.

The private play room was full, so the owner pulled down the curtains, closed the drapes and turned the public room into a private room.

The party was still going strong at 4am. We had a blast. We hear there are hot tubs coming along with a deck expansion and we cannot wait. Every time we come there is a major improvement and we like to check it out.

The owners participate and party with us. He likes to Wobble and she country dances. That sets a good environment for fun!!!

Title: New Attitude. New Crowd

What a difference a year makes! We visited this club when they first opened and frankly, were not impressed. We returned last week with friends and were very pleasantly surprised. It was great seeing so many people we've gotten to know from other clubs.

The new furniture and expanded ladies' room were nice additions. The patio, while usable, appears to still be under construction, but will be a nice touch when completed.

The non-smoking environment is WONDERFUL. My wife and I are smokers but we are well aware of the unpleasant odor that excessive smoke leaves in our hair and clothes and how unappealing it is to potential playmates. The previous smoking area was like a cave that non smokers didn't enter when we were there and this made the number of tables for non smokers very few and they were often reserved. Now, there are plenty of open tables and we don't have to worry about smelling like an ash tray when we leave.

Keep the improvements coming and we will keep coming back and bringing friends.

Title: The owners make sure you meet nearly every person in the club

The Velvet Curtain seems to put extra effort into making sure you meet others. The owners put together creative little games with prizes motivating people to mingle. There are no cliques and you are guaranteed to meet others.

The staff never touches your alcohol but they provide ice buckets and red bull at no charge. The indoor is smoke free which is a nice alternative. The clientele is appropriate with no back biting or the other things that seem to go on at other clubs.

The dress code is strictly enforced and I saw the male owner turn away a couple because he was in shorts and flip flops. They want you to dress like you are in an upscale night club.

The Velvet Curtain is different than the other clubs we have been to in that the owners are engaged and participate in line dances and other activities. The female owner did an incredible lap dance for someone's birthday. They are not judgemental and seem to really like the people at the club. The people that attend the club seem to be ... more appropriate than those that attend other clubs. No obnoxious back biting people, clicks or loud mouths. That's the best part.

The club is also the least expensive in town with Fridays at $20 and Saturdays at $40 with no hidden charges.

We enjoy our time.

Title: SMOKE FREE!

My husband and I have complained about choking smoke to another club owner for years and despite nice lights and a new room now and then, nothing has improved on the smoking front.

We have been going on and off to the Curtain at all of its previous locations and this one is by far the best. No pressure from weirdos, no overreaching oversight from management, we get to keep our own liquor (like big boys and girls), you can't beat the price, and now it's smoke free! Way to go!

We have a new lifestyle home.

Title: Club completely redone... Wow

We went to the club last Saturday. The owners must have put a fortune in over the last month. They bought the lot next door, added a full deck. The club is now non-smoking inside with the deck as the smoking area. All new furniture with a new Couch area in the dance hall.

They have started work on a non-smoking deck. All furniture is imported and large enough for real fun... if you know what I mean. I hope they add some hot tubs... hey Deb and Scott, what about a playing and non-playing hot tub in the new patio (the one you are building).

I am a professional woman who comes to the VC once or twice a month. The crowd is friendly and you generally meet everyone in the club each night. The typical crowd is about 100 people and everyone has a seat. The owners are a husband and wife who are attractive and friendly. They are both educated and did I say attractive. lol.

I viewed some of the reviews and what is up with the "classy" stuff. Looks like a person kicked for bad behaviour with a grudge. As I stated earlier the owners are educated and classy. I believe he is a University professor.

The crowds are more attractive than average, late 30's and better looking than most. All are made to feel comfortable. Single ladies are free, so I can count on a fun not for free. What is not to like?

First off.. some days like wensdays are work days.. so there are slower days people. The regulars or staff are so friendly that most of the time you will find us sitting around talking about any and all things. Helping some new to swinging person learn a few things or find answers to questions they have had. We are a close family that loves to meet new people and get away from the world for a while. As for the club.... it's got great room, good parking across the street,nice bar and plenty of room to dance and get to know someone.The wide range of people is good cus i personally love the older men.The fact that on wensdays i can bring my single guys is soooooooo nice. I'm sooo tired of going somewhere and not seeing single guys. On a good day for those that like to watch the action first we have all sorts to watch.I for one am always ok with giving a show on this or that.. heheh catch the fisting show.. it's a gusher. So short form for the club.. good friends and family gathering at a safe roomy place. If you get cold then you can snuggle up to the person next to you for sure.Good staff that will help you with anything you need. Did i mention the guys that are regularly there... damn.. talk about some nice cock.. sorry.(must be in need of cock at the moment ) heheh and some hot women too.

I have been to the club many times in the last few months and have always had a great time. I found the crowd always to be friendly no matter when I have gone. The staff is always polite and willing to answer any questions. I like how willing they are with taking the time with newbies to make them feel comfortable as well as making sure they know all the rules so they fully understand appropriate behaviors to make their first experiences to be exciting, safe and fun. I also think it is refreshing to see the owner mix and mingle with everyone. Scott is full of energy and has a very outgoing bubbly personality.

All you have to do is look at the guest lists to get an idea who attends the club. I don't know what is up with all these weekday parties with a scary looking bunch. And now I hear they are opening the club to gay males on Thursdays. What next? A clown night? No thank you! I would gladly pay double elsewhere and get the truly classy crowd they claim to have. Can I rate this club a ZERO?

I have seen the owners run patrons off. A man got inappropriate with my wife in the private playroom and the owners kicked him out. When he became loud, he was banned. The big tall owner took care of it.

New VC = open 4 times a week, public, private rooms, crowds growing every week and yes ..... pay per views. UFC fights all of them, NBA Playoffs, Rangers...

What is going on with some of the reviews. Have they ever attended the club? Boris and Doris' Podcast covered in a National Format what we already know. The VC is the friendliest club in the United States. They started a mixer game where the women get trivia questions and men get the answers. You patrol the place looking for your answer. When you find your answer, you both get raffle tickets and new questions and answers.

You know what, every person participates. They raffle of shirts, and incredible prize sets. It is fun and by 11:00 everyone has met everyone.

The people that attend range in age from 20's to 60's. The ethnicity? Hispanic to African American, to Arab to Israeli. Yes, 60 year olds finding other attractive 60 year olds ..... gives us something to look forward to. LOL

Title: Long standing client at new location.

I met the owners about a week before they opened and we formed what my wife and i consider a good friendship. Both of the owners are highly educated and attractive. They treat all people with dignity and respect and work hard to satisfy every patron.

The place is about 4100 square feet. There is a weekly mixer game which motivates all everyone to meet everyone else. I have never seen a clique and I go about three times a month.

I have never witnessed either of the owners "run anyone off". The neighborhood is quiet now that Pilgrims Prida has left. There really is nothing around other than the club in the neighborhood.

You can come for yourself to check it out since the first visit is free. We have seen the crowds go from 10 couples (February) to capacity every Saturday, so something must be right for this type of repeat business.

The female owner (wife) runs the front of the club, the male (husband) runs the bar and dance hall areas.

I don't know what's happened to this place but it was once fun....and yes I mean the new location. It is so ghetto and trashy I thought I had walked in to the wrong place. What happened to the classy people I met her a few months ago? From what I hear grapevine wise the owner ran them all off. I don't think I will ever go back. I was ashamed that I had bragged so much about this place to my friends to only have them sneer at it just as I ended up doing. So sad to see what was once fun turn to crap so quickly. Think I will pass on clubs from here on out.

Title: Reluctant once - regular now

After reading all previous posts I had to leave my own comments as a single female "newbie". Always hesitant about swinger clubs but much enjoyed house parties, I was reluctant to attend any club. The owners & staff at VC were great & made me feel very comfortable & at ease.
There's a wide range of people in age and appearance - which is great - we all like what we like. Everyone was friendly and I have yet to meet anyone pushy or intolerable.
Yes, things seemed to have improved from previous comments & I look forward to more improvements. I've attended on weekends as well as week days and even if there is noone that catches my interest (or vice-versus) to play with - I've enjoyed making great friends and time spent hanging out with them in an atmosphere that is respectful & open.
I love the fact that the private room has a door that stays closed & that the public room is not right next door - a great way to mingle on your way from one to the other LOL - or to the dance floor/bar.
Not many clubs welcome single men (from my understanding) & I love that the VC does. As a single woman, this is good news. The lobby is comfortable and a great place to mingle & get away from the noise a bit and relax. The music is good - never too loud or too low, the dance floor is fine -though it does get a bit crowded, especially on the weekends. I like that the Valet is there on weekends - and the valet staff has always been friendly & attentive above & beyond.

Over all Scott & Deb, as well as the rest of the VC staff, has made this a regular place that I feel comfortable attending & playing at.

My wife & I were invited to the Velvet Curtain about a month ago. We found the club, staff & the owners very friendly when we arrived. Once we were inside, we found the club it self quite nice. Restrooms with showers, lockers to secure our valuables, a smoking section for the smokers and vice versa. The sitting room is a very nice touch. It let's you relax and talk without the hussle & bussle of the main bar area. After an few hours, I turned to my wife and said we have found a new home to party at. We have returned every weekend ever since and love the different themes that the club encourages. I/we have recommended the Velet Curtain to all our swinger friends and they have done the same.
I would like to thank the owners for taking the time & effort to make the Velet Curtain a fun & exciting place to party at.

This is the best club we have ever been to! Friendly and accommodating owners and workers! A safe and clean environment to have dirty fun! Fabulous bar staff for all your mixing needs. A great dance floor, with smoking o none side and non on the other. A nice buffet to keep your energy up for playing all night long. A true diamond in the rough.

I have only been going to the VC for about 5 weeks but must say on my very first visit I was Totally impressed with the owner Scott. He is by far the friendliest, most outgoing owner I have ever come across in my 8+ yrs of swinging. He mixed and mingled with all. I cannot say enough about how wonderful he is as a host. I give him a 10 in every aspect! The mixer game is a fantastic idea and really helped me to meet others. Hope the game never is stopped. The staff is very friendly as are all the regulars at the club,and all made me feel very welcome. I was only at the club for about 2 hours when I said I finally found a club again that feels like home for me. I have brought many friends with me and all have enjoyed it and plan to come as often as they possibly can. Overall I am very impressed with the owners open minded attitudes and how willing he is to listen to suggestions and comments and actually make changes. If he says he is going to do something he does it. Great job! I love the club and will continue to attend every party I can. I also love how diverse the ages are and how they all mix and mingle with each other. I am impressed by the fact everyone wants to be friends even if no sexual chemistry for play. It is a rare find in the lifestyle.

Title: We had high hopes...

We were sorely disappointed with this club. We felt like it was a waste of our time and money. The 10 people that were in there did not interest us. We are not snobs, but we knew we didn't belong in there. It was extremly cold to the point of being painful. The music was lacking. The valet didn't even get off his phone to take our car and he was wearing shorts and a jersey. There were crackheads walking around outside the club and I did not feel safe. Top it off the valet was in the parking lot across the street and left the key drawers wide open. There is apparently no dress code because people were dressed like they were running errands. The staff inside the building was friendly enough, though our tour guide was wasted and was alseep on the couch when we left. Some of the things I did like were the play rooms look nice, they have a food spread, and they have showers. We did not stay long enough to enjoy any of these things. Some of the tables in the bar were broken. I guess, it is a matter of taste and this was not to my taste. We liked the Old VC much better. I doubt we will try it again, but you never know.

Title: My critique

So, I just read through all the posts, and I was sad to see that some people did not enjoy themselves at the VC. I have to admit it is not the same as the old club and that is part of its allure. The old VC had a second floor which was fun, but sometimes not worth the scary trek up the old staircase which was dangerous when wearing high heels.

My first trip to the new location was last year. As we drove up to the building my first thought was, Yikes. The neighborhood and buidling were a little rundown. My second thought was, cool, this place is well hidden. The valet was reassuring, which helped begin to alleviate some of my fears.

Once we entered, we were greeted warmly and received a tour of the place, which is standard for the first time in any swingers club. They constanyly apologized for anything that was not up to par and let us know of the improvements they had in store. (Which by the way, they have done.)

I am in 43 and my husband is 63, so I was concerned that we may not meet anyone in our age group or find anyone interested in a couple of old folks. So many people of all different ages talked to us and I met the coolest couple who were hanging out in front of the bathroom checking everyone else out. We met so many great people, and we played with a young couple who I hope to see in there again some time.

We have been back several times, and each time it is a great experience!

As a matter of fact, we just made reservations to go back tonight.

As far as being small, the square footage is comparable to several other dfw clubs. Look at the square footage on each website, they are all about the same. Personally, I like that the rooms are separated and cozy because then it is easier to 'bump' into people and start a conversation. Not like other places that are big and most people are sitting or standing against the wall,not mingling, like they are at their first seventh grade dance. Don't forget , you get as much fun out of it as you put into it.

I hope those of you that had a first bad experience do come back and give the club another chance. They have made many improvements. I really enjoy the atomsphere, peolple and the music.

This weekend at this place was amazing! The club is very clean the crowd was great! I think we met almost every couple there. The host and the staff are very welcoming. The couples there are more around the age range we are looking for (21 to 45) and extremely HOT!!!! Never at any other clubs have we felt more comfartable. We would like to personally thank everyone for a great time. We recommend this club for all in the lifestyle, new and seasoned.

My hunny and I visited for the first time last night (thanks all for the freebee!). Although we weren't able to stay for a long time (bummer!), we had a blast. We were very impressed by the crowd. A good variety of shapes, sizes and ages! The rooms were all very nice (we partook of the private room only cuz we had to leave so early. We will definitely try out the public room next time!) I think one of the things I liked the best was that the music wasn't too loud. We could still talk and clearly hear conversations. We will definitely be back! Everyone seemed so nice and we are looking forward to getting to know people more!

My Wife and I was here last Sat 18th we should up just before 2100 and didnt leave till 0330ish. She had the best night in a long time it is so hard to find a pleace she is comfortable to dance in let alone haveing fun as well.. I have been coming to this club as often as possible since it opened in its new location. I love it! It does appear that the owners are taking in some of the 13th Floors rejects to work for them. You have the most amazing and friendly staff of any club I have ever been to. Why are you taking in "strays?" I will not name names but I will give initials, R & D. While D is a doll, R gets sloppily drunk and runs off the people from your club. Who wants an old foaming at the mouth drunk that can't form a complete sentence & mumbles & slurrs representing their club. You need to be aware that the people I came with said they will not come back because of him. He was too hands on touchy with many women and offended most people he spoke with. I do not want to see my Favorite new place destroyed because of him. I've had nothing but good things to say about this place and have brought many a friend with me. Please stick to the quality educated crowd you claim to have and have shown to have in your staff. I'm still giving you and 8 but it would have been a 10!

WELL I HAVE BEEN READING THE REVIEWS FROM OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN TO OTHER CLUBS AND TO VC. THIS WAS MINE AND MY WIFES FIRST TIME TO ANY SWINGERS CLUB. I MUST SAY THAT WE WERE THE FIRST COUPLE THERE AND CLOSE TO THE LAST COUPLE TO LEAVE. WE FELT AT EASE FROM THE FIRST MINUTE WE WALKED THRU THE DOOR. MY WIFE WAS NERVOUS AND THE OWNERS REALLY MADE HER FEEL RELAXED AND AT HOME. WE MET 3 OTHER COUPLES THAT HAD BEEN THERE BEFORE. WE ALL DANCED, DIRTY DANCED AND DANCED BETWEEN THE SHEETS IN THE PRIVATE ROOM. IT WAS A GREAT TIME FOR ALL. THE ONLY THING THAT COULD BE BETTER IS THE A/C IN THE PRIVATE ROOM... WE DID HAVE A RATHER STEAMY TIME IN THERE. WE WERE ALL OVER HEATED FROM ALL THE FUN.. FOR A FIRST TIME FOR MY WIFE AND I, WE WILL BE BACK AND WE HOPE TO HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL TIME. THANKS TO ALL VC STAFF AND TO THE OTHER 3 COUPLES THAT KNOW WHO THEY ARE.

We are new to the area and decided to try out the "free before 9 if you have never been before." We had fun!. The VC does not prepare food, but brings in food they buy. It was great.

We stayed until closing (3 am). There were 54 couples and 4 single ladies. The bartender was tall and handsome. The DJ played solid requests for more than two hours. They have a form to request songs. At 11:30 we got an 80's set.

The crowd was very attractive as were the owners. From talking to people, most were professionals and many business owners. I would say the average age was about 35. There were a set of people in their 20s and two couples in their 60s.

The private playroom was full but there was a nice sitting area to wait. We had a great time!

We attend the club regularly (every week) and have had no issues with the neighborhood, owners or bartenders. Tips are optional. The bartender is male and has been for several weeks. There are no issues with crime with a secure parking lot and valet. It is, in fact, two blocks from the old VC.

The on-site owner/managers are classy educated and attractive. I have never heard them say anything negative about a person or establishment. They are formally regulars at the 13th floor and have a respect for all of the local clubs.

Title: It Was OK, But Not For Us

We miss the old VC and gave the new location a shot. The facilities are nice, but the place is small. The owners clearly put forth effort to try to do it right. However, my husband and I are police officers and even we will not go back to that part of town.

Hopefully the VC will make it, but they won't do it by trashing and telling lies about the other clubs in town, which the couple managing the VC clearly does. It's petty at best.

We didn't appreciate the tip jar and the angry looks we got if we didn't tip every time we went to the bar. The owner said it was gone. Apparently it's back. The bar tender needs to remember that it's OUR liquor, not hers.

Title: Objective Review

I understand the irony of an objective review, but below are reflections of our experiences on one night. I review not to promote or to condemn but solely because we would have liked this information before we attend a club.

The club - located east of downtown, it is in an old commercial building in an otherwise area that has seen better days. The area is quiet and parking easy enough. The inside of the club is nice enough, and the owners clearly tried to update the space to make it more home feeling. It is not the Playboy Mansion but not a trailer park either: nice that the 13th Floor but no Iniquity.

The staff - by far the nicest staff we've encountered. They were extremely attentive and friendly.

The atmosphere - VC was the tamest club we've been to. There was very little canoodling on the dance floor and even less playing in the public room. Those that were large kept to themselves.

The crowd - the crowd was mixed, but probably 10% < 30, 10% 30s, 20% 40s, and the rest older than 50. Not a lot of models on the night we attended, and few were dressed to impress. We saw a couple of cute couples and one smoking brunette. I would say generally this crowd prefers George Strait to George Michael.

The food - I've come to learn if people comment on the food or the club promotes it, it is generally not the place for us.

Those are our thoughts - neither positive nor negative, just our experience. A lot of folks will have a blast at VC, and others will find their niche somewhere else. I hope this review helps both groups.

We've heard a lot of different review about VC, some positive and some negative, so we decided to go and see for ourselves. We even invited some of our friends to come check it out for the first time.

WE ALL HAD A GREAT TIME! The food was good, the Music kept us on the dance floor, the Dj played request immediately after request was made. The Play areas were clean and well maintained. I like the fact that the private play room, had a door that remained closed to maintain privacy.
We Will Be Back! That You Can Be Sure!

With that said, everyone may have there own opinion, but unless you check it out for yourself, then you'll never know for sure, and missing out on a potentionally great time.

Title: The Place Is Fun

We drove over 100 miles to attend an SDC party. The staff and owners had a mixer game which allowed us to meet other members. Everyone participated in the mixer. Our fear was not having an opportunity to meet people since we were new to the club.

The crowd is educated and attractive. The owners are professionals in other fields and friendly. There was a lot of playing.

The VC is upscale with expensive furnishings. If you are looking for a more educated, attractive and upscale group - this is your place. This is our place!

Title: Had an OK time, but won't be our fav club

We are LS club regulars, you can find us at one of our favorite 3 DFW area clubs at least once during the weekend.

Always looking to branch out we decided to go to the "New" VC. We were big fans of the old club. Be aware, there is nothing in common between the new club and the old club. The only thing they share is the name.

I wish the owners would post pics of the club. It is newly renovated, with high end fixtures and finishes.

However, we don't go to a club to experience granite counter tops or renovated bathrooms. We go for the people. The staff and guests were friendly, and certainly not shy when it came to expressing their interest in wanting to play. We just didn't find that we were attracted too or had chemistry with anyone. We didn't have anything in common, professionally or socially.

The donation is the most economical of all the clubs and this is reflected in the crowd. Cost is a consideration for us as well, but it isn't the main consideration.

We spent our night talking with regulars we recognized from other clubs and ended up having fun. However, there are 3 other clubs closer to us. And there is nothing here to draw us away from them.

We are glad we came to experience all the buzz, but the new VC won't draw us away from our favorite clubs where we feel more comfortable and where we are certain to find other guests with whom we are attracted.

Title: The club is ready!!!

I have to disagree with the previous review. The club was new and its first day of opening was NYE. Since then, we have come every week and enjoyed the changes. A dance floor twice as large. Private areas in private rooms. A shadow box. The staff and patrons are nice. The clientèle is extremely attractive with regular attendance by porn stars. How many clubs can say that - play with a porn star. I did!

The staff is engaging and the owners attractive and fun. There are prizes nearly every week with fun contests.

Why is an experience from six weeks ago published this week? Strange. Makes me question the accuracy.

We attended and loved the other VC location. It was large, clean and safe. The new VC is none of the above and shouldn't even have the same name. It is misleading to anyone that enjoyed the old location.
We attended the fiasco that was NYE. The overbooked, unfinished club was misrepresented to everyone. We were ashamed because we brought 3 new couples with us to experience this huge cluster.
Maybe they have made some improvements (it couldn't get worse) but they have proven to us that they are incompetent.

The Velvet Curtain is truly one of the hidden jewels of the DWF area . The staff made sure that we felt really at home.
The owners are visible ,and the staff is hot. The crowd is an ideal mix for open minded swingers . If you're ever in the DFW area be sure to check out thus spot .

This is Scott, of Scott and Debbie owners of the VC

First of all, I appreciate the candid response. Candor, in life, is rarer than a golden unicorn. Now to the matters at hand. One the dance floor is more than 300 square feet now after the last transformation. It was 450 square feet and then reduced. We have found it is the right size for number of dancers. If more dance, then we will make it bigger.

With regards to seating, table reservations and the like, we seat over 80+ people with bar tops that are solid granite. Many prefer these to the tables. I certainly do and they are free.

The table reservations are for guaranteed seating. They are typically used in one of two ways. The first is you know you are arriving late (say after a Maverick game) and want to sit. We request that you pay $35 for this. The other is a large party that wants to sit together with people arriving at different times, and they use the table reservation in a pre-arranged way.

The valet is optional. The parking lot across the street is available and secured. Our valet was new and he is faster at the job now. There is no substitute for experience - on any job. Give him another try, or self park.

Finally, with regards to the tip jars. The comments made were good and helpful - again with the candor. They are removed. The intent at the VC is one payment (hopefully on line) and then have fun. No other charges. We work to make the food a meal so you do not have to purchase dinner. We want full fun for $50.

To the author of the previous email, I would like to have you come as our guests and take your input. You seem to have a keen eye for detail - so let's use this eye for better evening for all of us.

Title: It Just Doesn't Work for Us

We've been to many clubs in the DFW area and have visited the VC in three different incarnations. the new owners are nice, but the layout and location just don't work for the following reasons:

Mandatory Valet Parking - the location dictates that you valet park if you ever want to see your vehicle again. Waiting for your vehicle to leave can be time consuming and getting to your vehicle during the evening to get or put something is a hassle.

The dance floor is tiny - The DJ is good and the sound is great, but the dance floor is a postage stamp.

Paying to reserve a table isn't fair.

The punky-looking bartender's attitude and expectation towards tipping sucks. Her disposition alone is enough to keep my husband and I from returning.

There were several first timers who seemed to know people and got in free, but we didn't meet anyone who had been there before.

Title: We had a great time!

We had an awesome time last weekend and can't wait until the next time we get to go! It was a mixed crowd, both in age and size, so definitely something for all tastes. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. The staff is very accommodating, and the owner is very nice and approachable. They will make sure you feel welcomed. We would have given the club a 10 rating, but there are some changes coming that will boost the score. We hear that they are working on a patio area. They have installed a smoke eater, so that should help with the smokiness. The carpet is down and decorations are up, along with a stripper pole on the dance floor. Give the club a shot! Or, if you have been in the past, try them again!

I was there on NYE as well and I have to say the changes made from that weekend to the next were incredible. It has so much more charm already. Carpets have been put down in the play rooms. Curtains and decor hung. The leather seating area is really comfortable. There is a smoke eater now and only one end of the dance floor is smoking. The patio is supposed to be completed by the end of the month. It seems they are working hard to get everything completed as quickly as possible. Things seem to be coming along nicely. Can't wait until everything is completed.

I was there on the 1st as well and I have to say there were some amazing changes that happened from that grand reopening night to last weekend. A patio is being installed as well. The smoking thing was fixed too. A smoke eater was installed and now only one half of the dance area has ashtrays! Yeah! Also the dance floor has been enlarged. This place has more seating than any other club I have ever been to. Barstools line almost the entire room. At least 8-10 tables too. They are building a huge patio for even more seating and a way to stretch your legs while relaxing. The new leather couches in the entry room are a nice touch. All of the new curtains and decor made it seems like a different place from that first night they were open. Rooms are carpeted now too & it is turning out beautifully.

Title: Disappointment

Tried going for NYE grand opening and found it teribly overbooked and no where near ready. The staff was very friendly and had no problem refunding our "donation". Even said they'd send us a comp credit for a future visit. Perhaps once they get everything in place it will be fine, but it's no comparison to the old VC. We need another upscale LS club in Dallas and we had high hopes, but unfortunately this isn't it. At least not yet anyway!

Title: New Location a Work in Progress

We never saw the old location,but the new location was still very raw on their grand opening NYE - we'd have to call it a work in progress. Location is well situated with some great class A hotels nearby, easy access, adequate parking nearby. Lockers available, bring your own lock. Tiny dance floor 100 s.f., music system and music mix was fine, but no space to dance, leave your two step at the door. Smoking at all the tables cough/cough/cough (although we read somewhere they are installing a smoke eater). Mixer bar was well attended and well set. Two playrooms one private and one open to veiwing, the playrooms are without charm simply bare walls with boxspring & mattress on the floors. We didn't play, so have no information on availability of change of sheets for you other germ concious swingers. No shadow box, stripper pole, or dancing platforms...perhaps later. The management/staff/operators were all very pleasant. Good mix of people in attendance, age range was 30-60, HWP and up, different folks for different strokes.

Saturday night (7/25) was our third visit to Velvet Curtain. We hesitated to go again because our previous visit wasn't fun due to malfunctioning air conditioning and a DJ that wouldn't play anyone's requests.
Both issues were greatly improved this past weekend.

The Velvet Curtain is clean and the layout of this club is so unique to DFW. The club was full of attractive, friendly couples and we weren't aware of any cliques. Every staff member was friendly and professional.

We're glad that we gave the Velvet Curtain another chance. We will go again and recommend it to anyone.
