DESIRE Trip Review by JoesPlayGirl (IniquityClub)

Desire The Couples Only All Inclusive Resort

The Desire Resort & Spa is an all-inclusive resort which caterers to professional and playful adults. Desire provides a no pressure environment for open-minded adults. From newbies to couples on the soft side to those that have been fully around the block, Desire offers couples an opportunity to explore whatever you are searching for, within your comfort level.
What to expect
We booked our travel with our friends Claudia and Pepe with Travel SDC. After a routine Spring Break push through the Cancun Airport, we were promptly greeted by our transfer (arranged by Travel SDC) and were whisked away to the resort (about 20 miles from the airport).

The accommodations are comfortable we are in agreement with the other reviews that discuss the breakdown of the resort the rooms pools restaurants etc.
Playful Days
Whatever you are searching for from a quiet spot on the beach working on those no tan lines to a more festive beachside pool from pampering at the spa to sunning in the au natural rooftop Jacuzzi from a shopping trip to Playa de Carmen to simply relaxing at the bar your playful days are whatever you desire.

Naughty Nights
Sexy. Hot. Playful. Desires theme nights in the retro disco lounge are well attended. Your evening (or early morning) continues with your comfort level from the rooftop Jacuzzi bar to the private sandy beach from a suite with new friends to your own room and some time together. Desires nights are as adventurous as you want them to be.
Soft or Full
With 110 rooms you will encounter couples with similar preferences and desires.
Lifestyle or Au Natural
Desire is a lifestyle resort where lifestylers are respectful of each others preferences. Desire is not a nude resort for close-minded nuturalists who are not tolerant of others more progressive preferences.
Desire Your search is over
We will be returning to Desire in March 2005 with Rick and Tamis invasion from the Iniquity Club. Sexy, hot and playful couples are welcome to join the group. Please visit IniquityClub.com for more details. Well see you there!

Desire Trip Review by Nathan & Mickie (The Bliss Club)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Things could not have gone better for our first group trip and it was an overwhelming success! We have already set up the dates for next summer (2005) to return to Desire (July 25-31st)!
For those of you not familiar with The Bliss Club we are a promotional organization based in Florida that produces erotic theme parties, special events and group trips for bi-sexual women and young couples. Our erotic theme event in Miami Beach is considered to be the hottest nightclub party in the world attracting 400-600 guests every month.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We visited both Desire & Hedo III before selecting Desire. Here are our comparisons and reasons why we selected Desire:
From South Florida Desire is an hour flight and the rates are almost $200 less than flying to Jamaica.
The rates at Desire are more reasonable than Hedo III (this is important to us because we have a younger following).
The van ride from the airport to Desire is only 20 minutes compared to 90 minutes for Hedo III.
The beach area at Desire is much, much nicer than Hedo III.
Desire is smaller and more intimate. We took a group of 60 guests and if we were at Hedo III we would have been easily separated.
Desire is for couples only, whereas Hedo III allows single men on the property and makes the nightclub experience very uncomfortable. For our group that is used to having more women at a party than men it would have been very problematic at Hedo III. Our guests biggest complaint is that Desire does not allow single women!
The food, service, facilities were very similar and both very nice.
It is very easy to get to the resort area in Cancun.

We arrived on a Wednesday and the staff at Desire set up a reception for us at the Roof Top Jacuzzi Bar. We had name tags for our group and enjoyed appetizers and drinks while getting to know each other.
Everyone in our group enjoyed the nightly theme events in the club and the girls all looked great! After a few hours in the club everyone would head for a night cap at the Jacuzzi Bar.
One of the best times we had was in the pool on Friday. Almost everyone in our group was in the water at the pool laughing and drinking for 3 hours straight.
We had an amazing Saturday night at Coco Bongos Nightclub in the resort area. They sent a large air conditioned bus for us and our whole group traveled together enjoying shots of tequila on the way there! It was a nightclub that featured continuous live entertainment acts. We watched amazing performances from acrobats, musicians, jugglers, dancers, etc from 11pm-3am from the VIP section!
Overall, everyone in our group was very pleased and we expect a high rate of guests to return next summer and to add many more!

Desire Trip Review by Tom and Bonnie from Texas Players
We just returned from the new Desire Resort and Spa in Cancun. This is a new couples only, swinger friendly, all inclusive resort 20 minutes south of Cancun, Mexico. The resort has 110 rooms, two pools, a nude rooftop Jacuzzi, five bars and three restaurants.
Bonnie and I visited this resort about two weeks after they opened with a group from Swingers Date Club. We were not compensated by the resort or SDC for this trip report, although we did receive a 50% discount for our rooms as well as a certificate for three days and two nights to give away at the club.
First off, we must say that arriving in Cancun was much more pleasant than our last time. The airport has undergone some extensive remodeling and now includes jetways instead of deplaning on the tarmac. Entry via customs and immigration took us less than 10 minutes instead of the hour and a half it took last time we visited.
While the resort is less than twenty minutes away, you might want to make sure you have transfers already arranged as the throngs of taxi and shuttle drivers at the airport had never heard of the resort.
As you arrive at the resort, you will notice that a lot of work is going on at the entrance. While we were there, workers were busy cleaning out the swamp in front of the resort to make it a scenic lagoon with crocodiles, turtles and fish. The current entrance is thru a delivery gate but the new covered bridge is near completion and will make for a classy entrance.
Upon arrival at the resort we were met with a cool, damp towel to freshen up with and a glass of champagne. The lobby area has, in addition to the front desk, a concierge, gift shop, jewelry store and computer room. The internet connections were slow, the browsers were in Spanish and charges were $5 per half hour, however we were never charged... Check in took less than 5 minutes and we were soon being escorted to our ocean front room.
On the way to our room we were shown the Lobby pool (which never saw anybody in) and the Lobby Bar. Affectionately nicknamed the Mosquito Bar or The Gecko Bar as the latter were after the former! Right next to the Lobby Pool was a series of four futons with gauze curtains hung from a frame. These were very handy for late night play time with another couple or for relaxing out of the sun during the day.
A few steps further and we were at the Spa. Here you will find an exercise room, private Jacuzzi, several massage rooms (as well as a couples massage room), a coed dry sauna and mens and womens locker rooms with wet saunas. Future plans include a beauty saloon as well. Just beyond the spa is the tennis courts. I dont know if anyone ever used it, perhaps it could become another nude pool or love pit in the future!
Literally 6 steps from our room was the beach, but first... Inside the rooms you will find either a queen or king bed with cloth canopy and new comforters. In addition there is ample closet space although the attached hangers need to go and they need more shelves. A wall safe, stocked refrigerator, coffee maker new room air conditioners and a satellite TV with XXX porn on it! The floors were tile throughout and the bathrooms contained a bidet and open shower. Towels were huge and you could easily bring more from the pool if you needed them.
Back to the beach... Desire has a fabulous au natural beach with little palapas and new lounge chairs spaced all along its length. Once near the nude pool though there is a beach volleyball court, horseshoe pit and area for the Kayaks, sailboats and windsurfers that are available free of charge. The beach is kept very clean as it was raked every morning we were there. The water is clear and warm, no rocks and no waves as there is a large reef just offshore. While the beaches in Mexico are public we never saw many people walking down them given the few developments in this area. However, dont be alarmed when you see the Mexican army soldiers patrolling the beach. Just wave and say hola!
The large pool is where you will find most of the guests, especially if there is a large swingers crowd in attendance. There were activity directors organizing games like tequila Volleyball, water polo, etc. The pool is only 4 1/2 feet at its deepest part. The shallow end being separated from the deeper part by little concrete pillars, makes a great place to set your drinks. Adjacent to the pool are two buildings, the first being an activity center where you can arrange scuba diving, fishing charters, site seeing trips, etc. Next door you will find Pablos Place (the Bar) and the pool side grill serving hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, ceviche, nachos, chips and queso or guacamole etc.. Both opened up around 10 am and stay open till 5 PM.
The other large building facing the pool contains both restaurants. The main restaurant, El Arrecife, The Reef is a buffet serving breakfast lunch and dinner till 11pm. There was quite an assortment of both hot and cold entrees, sides and deserts but all could use some work. The wait staff appeared new and inexperienced. Good at cleaning off tables but slow to take drink orders and refill your glasses. They didnt seem to be bothered at all by me getting up and refilling my and our table guests glasses.
The highlight of the trip for me was when the marketing director for the resort asked me to meet with her over lunch and give her my feedback and opinion on what they need to be doing to target the swinger market. I spent about two hours with her and shared many opinions with her, hopefully they will be listening.

One issue to be aware of that is of primary concern... This is the first such resort to place a play area in specifically for sexual activities. When in the play area, you may come across people who have never been in such an area before and may not know how to act. Gentlemen, keep an eye on your ladies while in these areas. I mentioned to management that they need to ensure that only couples in and couples out in the play area. It also would be a good idea to provide a swinging 101 brochure to visitors as this may be a place where some couples may have their first encounters.
Will we be back? Of course, this place has much more potential than Hedonism does right now. Given the proximity to San Antonio, the space for sexual play and the willingness to target a swinger crowd... This place has tons of potential. We will be planning another hosted trip there in the next couple of months and we expect that most of the earlier problems will be taken care of.

     Title: Desire Resort and Spa
Date: 4/6/2005 3:29:29 PM
After watching the evolution of the Desire Resort in Cancun since January 2003 we have seen this resort become the perfect venue for lifestyle travelers or those who just want a sexy getaway. We were there in May just after the opening of Desire and saw the resort get off to its rocky start but boy have they ironed things out. Our most recent trip was the week after Halloween. We almost canceled at the last minute because the forecast look so grim.

As it turned out the weather was gorgeous everyday except for the day we were departing. Nothing like a little monsoon to set the mood for some afternoon delight before heading home. The resort atmosphere is very erotic regardless of the weather. We get excited just reminiscing about our time there and can't wait for our next visit.
Now for some specifics... Getting to Desire is amazingly easy and quick. Our shuttle was waiting for us at the airport and in just about 15 minutes we were at the front desk. Our room was a garden view but with a glimpse of the beach. One thing that is really nice is the closeness to the beach of even the garden view rooms. The rooms had a very clean style to them but ours did not have a set of drawers which kept us living out of our suitcases. Wasn't much of an issue for us but if it is important to you I would suggest you make a request for a room with drawers. They seemed to want to be accommodating as possible. We were quite pleased with our room although we weren't there that often.
We were usually torn between hanging out by the pool or on at the beach. Fortunately the pool was right off the beach so you kind of had the benefit of both. We though the beach was outstanding but there was some seaweed on this visit. One of those things that you really can't predict since we heard from some people that the day after we left the water and beach were seaweed free. We thought there was going to be a nude section of the beach but during our visit the entire beach seemed to be clothing optional which is the way we prefer it. For that matter I think the only place nudity was restricted was in the restaurants and the lobby. The pool area was set up nicely and we particularly enjoyed monopolizing the poolside palapa. The pool area was quite busy while we were there and it had a nice atmosphere... although on a few occasions some couples may have provided a little too much entertainment. At least is provided something for everyone to talk about.
The restaurants seemed to get mixed reviews. I thought the main dining area which was buffet style was adequate. We have had better and worse but since we were on a liquid diet we didn't over indulge. Now, when it came to the other restaurant, the Piacere, that was a different story. We weren't expecting such a fine dining experience but since we enjoyed it so much we managed to work in another evening thanks to our host before we left. I was all prepared to order fish but ended up going with the duck one night and the lamp chops the other. Not sure which was better but both were outstanding. I did get to sample the shrimp, fish and steak and found them all very good. The atmosphere was very nice and stylish. If I had one complaint about either restaurant it was that both were a bit on the warm side.
Perhaps our favorite part of the resort was the rooftop hot tub and deck area. The design was outstanding. Just wish we could have closed it off and had our own little party up there with our close friends. Instead, it was a bit overwhelming since the rules seem to be anything goes. Sometimes you can design something too good and obviously many couples couldn't resist the temptation of playing in this erotic playground. We found the mornings very enjoyable when we pretty much had the rooftop to ourselves.
The disco was outstanding for this size resort with a really cool adjoining playroom. The only complaint we had was with the air conditioning. If they could just add another fan and drop the temperature about five degrees it would have been perfect.
I am sure I left a lot out but we think this is the ideal couples / lifestyle resort. It is a fantastic bargain compared to some of the alternative resorts and I believe it is more our style than some of the bigger resorts... not that Desire is small. Actually with 110 rooms it is the perfect size.
We hope to make this a twice a year vacation and believe the resort is well on its way to making a name for itself.
