We wanted to take a moment to thank SDC for their listings here, if not for that we would not have found Club Amante's. We can now see why they have such a high overall rating.

We went last Saturday night. While the turn out was slow by there standards (only about 25 couples) we had a great time. Who would have thought that 25 couples was considered slow, but it was explained to us by other guests that it being the Saturday after labor day was probably the reason it wasn't packed. Regardless the 50 or so guest there were all friendly and fun.

The staff was VERY attentive and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The space was also kept VERY clean. We noticed the moment a room was empty an employee would literally run in to change the sheets (we noticed this numerous times). It was by far the highlight of our trip to New York City and we will be back.

So once again thanks SDC, thanks Club Amante's staff and especially thanks to Jack and Melba for running such a fun place. Other clubs should stop by and take notes!

i enjoyed club amantes. for the most part me and my husband felt right at home. our experiences were well worth being there.
negative: i do wish the dj would be there every saturday.
there are men that are with there significant other that are sharks. i think the club need to weed those couples out and it will be perfect.
besides that club amantes is safe and a fun place to be

We went after reading all about Amantes on the Internet as well as here on SDC. Must say they helped make our our visit to NYC a success. We tried two other clubs while in town, both in Manhattan and closer to our hotel, that could not come close to the experience we had at this space.

The staff was friendly as were the guests. I am not going to name either of the other clubs but for us Amantes is where we will head to when back in town.

A quick note...the area was kind of scary when we got there. Next time we will take a cab there instead of the train. But once there we felt very safe by the amount of staff and security.

They even called us a cab for us for the return trip that showed up in about 5 minutes. It cost us about 20 back to our hotel. Next time we will take a cab there, sorry we are not that adventurous.

I went last night for the first time along with my husband. We have never seen so me couples we felt compatible with at a club like this. Very comfortable environment. I loved it and it was so much fun we are probably going to have a 2nd go next week.

We attended Club Amante's Saturday's event (5/22/11) and had a great time. As we introduced ourselves and engaged in conversations, we found many of the couples were very sociable and respectable. Defenitly a place worth returning to.

Title: Decided to try it...Happy we did.

After reading all the reviews here, from glowing to hated, we must say we fall on the positive side.

We went on a Friday night and we ended up going back the following night since we had such a good time.
From the moment you walk in you feel catered to and safe.

We totally disagree with the reviews (2 of them) below, but judging from the times they were posted and the way they sound they are obviously written by the same person. Also we went on April 29 (Friday) and April 30 (Saturday) so again judging from was written we were there same night he was.

Do not know what passes for ghetto for some people but the place was a mix of every type you can think of. From artsy to business types...mature to young...of every nationality. And yes even a couple of ghetto types. So unless you want to say that every black couple is automatically ghetto, then the review is way off base. And yes there were Black couples there both nights, however if we were going to pick one type that was in majority it would be white 30-40 year old couples, but that is only if hard pressed. By the way, we are an Asian American couple, he 31 and she 29.

Personally we liked both nights but Saturday night was our favorite, if only for the fact that there were no single guys in attendance. But even on Friday the couples outweighed the single guys and the security kept them all in check.

We will definitely be back.

PS: To be fair it does look scary from the outside, but far from dangerous. And when we drove up there was a guy right outside who escorted us directly to the lot. At the end of the night they even walked us back. So personally we enjoyed all the security there.

I had the best time of my life and i have been to alot of on premise clubs from florida to ny.I would how ever say it looks a little scary at first due to the neighborhood but when inside beautifull.I did have a situation with someone getting a little out of line but security escorted this jackass out before i even complained.I would how -ever make a few remarks since i am rating this space.I think besides the neighborhood being scary when you first walk in there is a 400lb security guard,usally eating taking up all the room.Then you wait 20 min to get in because the bald guy tells you his life story.I really have only one more small complaint,the head of security is a little intimidating but cute in his own way(probably ex-marine)he used excessive force to get that person out but im glad he did.I have no more complaints the best so far.

I am new to the swingers lifestyle and i cant compare amantes to any other club because i never was at another club.I must say it was far from ghetto.The place was imaculate and plenty of fun.I do have a few complaints.I was told to put out my cigerette before i walked in and to my surprice the guy collecting the money and the barmaid where in a cloud of smoke themselves.The guy that collects the money is a little cocky and should have a female doing his job but other than that the place is my new spot.

Obviously the guy below has an ax to grind or he wasn’t at Amante’s

We go to Amante's about twice a month, always on Friday night when single men are allowed. Main reason is my lady is into MFM.

There have never been more single men then couples in the 20 or so times we have been there.

We have seen couples that were hotties and we have seen average looking couples that look like your next door neighbors (we fall into that category). We have seen every nationality and ages ranging from 25 to 55 all on the same night and yes we have seen some unattractive couples.

Think about it logically…Amante’s is one of the busiest clubs in the NYC area, so they obviously get a cross section of everything Or they wouldn’t have lasted as long as they have.

What the gentleman below writes is simply illogical…does he want us to believe that all ugly people go to one club and all the hotties go to another…Please…Anyone who would write such a thing must have an ulterior motive or he is a single guy who struck out!

As for cleanliness, they are out and out anal about it.

FACT…no club is all ugly or all hotties…and we have been to every swinger club in NYC. Furthermore at $40 for couples on a Friday it’s by far the least expensive club in NYC area.

Even at $80 per couple on a Saturday night it’s reasonably priced and it’s only that high because there are no single men allowed…

Go yourself and we are sure you will agree with our review.

OMG, what a waste of time, i have in the lifestyle for 5 years, dear God, this place is a filthy house in the middle of Brooklyn. People are UGLY and there is more single guys than couples or single girls, do i need to say more? Avoid it. Horrible

To Jack and Jill,
Thanks for making our trip to NYC memorable.

We visit NYC often and have hit all the regular haunts. Never thought our favorite would be in Brooklyn. Actually my husband and I have stayed in Manhattan 9 times over the years and never left the Island. Glad we did.

The space was extremely clean and staffed by the friendliest, attentive staff you can imagine. While the crowd was not all knock outs they were all so friendly.
Overall Checkmates has a better looking crowd, but still met plenty of hotties at Amante's.

And the less expensive door price more than made up for cab ride. Add to that how friendly the staff was and we have a new favorite.

A new reason to look forward to our 10th trip come spring.

Reasonably priced. We paid 80 on Saturday night but were told after 11 it goes up to 100. But that's still less expensive than any of the other clubs in the area were charging. Staff was attentive and my husband and I felt very well treated.

Note...the Crowd was very diverse, all ages and all backgrounds. The night we went (Sat) was all couples with a few single ladies. If you are looking for specific type then don't go...However we found them all to be friendly and fun.

Overall for NYC it was a fun night and we plan to go back when we are in town.

If you are looking for a clean, fun, sexy atmosphere you found it.

Don't hate.. These people keep this place real clean. The food is great.The rooms always clean, the beds sheet and the bath room.The locker guy I think his name is Richie ( ladies he is cute and very sweet) he makes sure that the rooms are very clean and the bathrooms too.If not him the lady everyone knows as Nena every one thinks she is great and the security they make sure no one gets out of line and makes sure Nena makes sure no one gets out of line LOL tough little one.the barmaid she is very sweet. The owners are very nice I love Melba the way she dances.George is good and the DJ the music is wonderful his girl is even better but good...

Title: Our favorite in NYC

We go to Club Amante’s quite often. We are very good friends with the couple that run it having met them a few years ago at the old Casbar location in Brooklyn. We were upset with the review below and mentioned it to them; they actually laughed saying it was clearly someone they barred from the club or some other promoter trying to stir up trouble and told us to ignore it. But in all fairness we could not let that review go unanswered.

Amante’s is one of the nicest clubs we have been to in New York. The people that run it are friendly and it is exactly how a swinger club should be run.

The negative review below says that all the other good reviews are obviously written by the owners of the club. Well we feel it is VERY obvious that review below is either written by someone with a grudge or a competitor. Maybe they were thrown out of the club or are a less successful promoter disturbed by the success of the club.

1) Regardless of what was in the space before, the club is doing very good business and far from failing.
2) The say their car got broken into, well ours was broken into in Greenwich Village last year, so does that make the area unsafe, or rather just bad luck. We have been to the club a dozen times and never had a problem parking or getting broken into…nor have any of our friends.
3) They say the space is in a Ghetto…maybe compared to where they live it is. But the reality is it is a very safe neighborhood. True it is in an industrial area of Brooklyn and as such is desolate, but we never had a problem going and coming.
4) They say the space is far from public transportation, it is 3 blocks from the C train. And even if it was far from public transportation there are plenty of clubs you need a car to get to
5) They compare it to the old Casbar, however the old Casbar is closed. When compared to the other current clubs and spaces in New York City Amante’s is as big or bigger. Makes us believe they were never really in the space before.
6) Not sure what they mean by photos since there are NO photos posted here or on other sites.
7) What is the difference what the outside of the building looks like…the inside is spacious and well appointed. And anyone who has actually been inside and compared to other clubs in the area knows it.
8) As to the “crowd” of men who are generally outside if you look a little closer you will find them to be the same 2 or 3 men who are outside every evening. They are part of the security/door staff.
9) As for anyone “working” the club, we have never seen anything like that. And if it was to happen, the security would immediately put a stop to it.
10) Finally they say they went twice…come on people, why go a second time if you had such a terrible time the first time.

It really bothered us how many times they out and out lied in the review. We admitted above we are friends of the owners so of course are going to be in favor of them, however it is just as obvious whoever wrote the review below has ulterior motives.

Read all the reviews and make up your own mind but to us we will keep going because we always have a good time.

The reviews below are OBVIOUSLY written by the owner of the club.

Make no mistake and there can be absolutely no debate that this location SUCKS -- and everything about this club is HORRIBLE. They must be renting it out for next to nothing because we went to this same address a year ago (when it was called "Twister") and it was clear that any business there would fail because of how GHETTO and unsafe the neighborhood is.

FIRST, our car was broken into -- which we did not find out until 2am when we left the place.

SECOND, the neighborhood is very very desolate at night as it is a more industrial part of a very ethnic area of Brooklyn. This is the type of place you wouldn't be wandering into.

THIRD, this place is FAR from any public transportation and you would feel VERY UNSAFE walking there.

As compared to Casbar, this place is tiny and it is located in a really bad area.

We noticed the owners of Amante's are constantly posting on Craig's List, and even have the details of the club in Google with the SAME fake reviews!!!

You can see from the pictures that the place is a joke. Walls are painted primary colors. Furniture and decor is straight from Target's clearance section and the dollar store. I've seen childrens' treehouses that have more taste. You don't feel sexy or turned on entering this club, but quite the opposite.

We went on a Friday night, which sucked worse than Trapeze and Carousel combined. A joke of a crowd, including extremely ugly and obese people. A ton of nasty single men WILL harass your girl. There were obvious prostitutes (an African American girl who was going from guy to guy soliciting, and eventually went into a back room where her pimp watched over her). The place was sooooo seedy.

Saturday night. Ghetto crowd, more ugly people.

We could forgive the nasties if the place itself was classy, but it's not. This location is horrible and the place is cheezy. You can't change that. Hell even Trapeze is a much more visually appealing club. Carousel too! For being in ghetto-ville, Brooklyn it should be in a brand new building with gorgeous decor... but instead it looks like a basement with a bunch of beds.

This place sucks. The owners suck. The guests suck. The location REALLY sucks. This is perhaps the WORST place you can choose to go.

Don't believe us? Just drive by the location at night. Don't stop, don't let your car get broken into like we did. Just check out the crowd of single men hanging outside, and RUN. But DON'T waste your money on this garbage, nor the hype.

Title: Went last weekend.

Found this gem on SDC and boy glad we did.

Being new to New York City we were to be honest a little scared of the area. But once we passed through the doors we forgot all about that.

The night we went we had a great time. The staff was welcoming and the crowd all very friendly.

We will be going back. Thanks for making us feel at home.

We read the review by the Dallas Couple below and decided to take a shot. We must say they were right on the money. Having been to virtually all the other clubs in NYC Club Amante's is a cut above the rest.

First, compared to clubs outside of NYC it is on the smaller side, however compared to other NYC clubs it is much bigger than average. We counted 5 private play rooms (one queen size bed in each) and 3 large play rooms (3-4 queens size beds in each room) as well as a large lounge with platform areas and couches for laying back and chatting or watching the 42 inch flat screen showing videos.

In addition another lounge area with a real dance floor, with get this, a "real" sound system. The night we were there (Thursday) there was Ipod music but a fun mix...but we were told they bring in a live DJ on Fridays and Saturday nights. It was a totally different yet equally sexy atmosphere from the more laid back play areas.

Anyone who has been to Trapeze or Carousel will agree as for cleanliness this place blows them away! They even out did Checkmates (sorry guys we still love you) which to this point was our favorite.

But most impressive of all was the staff...They went totally out of their way to make everyone feel at home...Run by two "real" couples (Melba n George and Jack n Jill) they, as well as the whole staff, made us feel totally welcome. Even the security was respectful.

We will definitely be back again...Hope it lasts because this is how a club should be run.

Title: Most Pleasantly Surprised! We Recommend it totally!

We are a couple from Dallas and found this club here on SDC and decided to give it a try. We hit tow other clubs also listed while staying in Manhattan last week and were pleasantly surprised with Club Amante’s.

Don't know what the reviewer (a few reviews down) is talking about but I think they were at another place. To compare it to an apartment is way off base. Unless there are many 12 room apartments in NYC.

Compared to some clubs here in Texas the place is on the small side. However compared to the other places we visited it in NYC (as well as quite a few we have visited across the US and Canada) it was quite spacious. There were 8 or 9 play areas that ranged from intimate smaller rooms to large rooms. There was also a nice sized dance floor lounge area as you entered and a second larger lounge with videos playing in the back. Not to mention a nice size locker room

Equally important the staff (ALL of them) made us feel totally comfortable and we have to agree with the reviewer below they were almost anal about changing sheets. Most homes should be that clean.

We will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone.

So I went there last week and had a great time. Place is clean and huge. My only TURN-OFF is that they block off the Couples Room at certain times when couples are playing. Also, everyone was waiting to see who the first one to play will be so the "action" started about 1am. THEY SHOULD HAVE A MANDATORY CLOTHES CHECK! PEOPLE SHOULD BE ALLOWED IN WITH THEIR UNDERWEAR ONLY AND THAT SHOULD GET THINGS STARTED EARLIER :).

I mean, I spend a lot of money to go there and then can't watch the Couples in action? I thought couples stay home and play if they don't want to be watched. This is the only thing that killed it for me. Apart from that, the staff is very friendly and the place is well kept. I mean, as soon as a bed was used, sheets were changed right away which was a huge plus for me. They take cleanliness/hygiene very seriously. I would recommend this place.

Not to be negative but the last person who said they felt unsafe, I respect your view but that Club is in Clinton Hill/Prospect Heights section of Bklyn and that particular area is more on the quiet side but very gentrified and safe. Just saying as I know the area very well.

Title: Not Impressed, Misleading Guest Lists

Prior review states reasonably priced and can't disagree more. The fact they jack the entry fee up 20 dollars after 11 pm makes it unreasonable. To call it a club is a reach, it's more like an oversized apartment. The seating situation is NOT conducive to talking. The music list is on the lame side. The club is hidden in a neighborhood that makes you feel seriously unsafe in late at night. The guest list for events is usually filled with people who work in the club so it's extremely misleading. Sorry to be so negative since the NYC lifestyle scene sucks so badly that the promise of a decent club would be wonderful but this one isn't it.

we have been to Amantes a couple of saturday nights since their grand opening and have been really, really impressed and surprised.
we have been to all of them, and it is by far the cleanest, nicest, best laid out club of its kind in the nyc area and has a great staff and hot, friendly crowd.
it is also surprisingly large, with a great lounge area in the front and 6 or 7 playrooms.
we even loved the food!
we plan on trying a friday next, and are sure that will be great too.

Title: Cool Space

The area is a bit industrial but once you get through the doors it pretty much blows away any clubs in the NYC area.

Nothing like the club's down in Florida but a very pleasant surprise for NYC not to mention Brooklyn.

Staff was polite and fun and the prices were reasonable.

Hope its around for a while.
